So basically it seems most of the oldest translations omit 'me' but the Sinaiticus supports inclusion of it? Interesting. Seems something that can be interpreted different ways depending on the context and views of the translator, like many bible words I guess.

If this is true then it's such an obvious mistake. How on earth could the Watchtower have got this so back to front?

so i went to the meeting tonight with my mom, cuz she's visiting.
i know i know, that's my first mistake.. so, they're going over this part on disfellowshipping, and they start going on and on about how it's jehovah's love for the congregation that "he disfellowships.".
yeah so its not the organization that disfellowships, its jehovah.
Not sure how you jump from general disfellowshipping to paedophilia. We know the Society is hypocritical to quickly disfellowship ordinary people while at the same time making it very hard to remove paedophiles, but I think you're twisting that sister's illustration a bit.

I suppose a typical JW response would be: Because Jesus has to return first to separate the sheep from the goats, with only the former going off into everlasting life (Matt 25; Rev 7). And he has to return to raise the dead.

for some reason i almost half expected to get one this year (from the elders).
my mother-in-law invited my wife which i assume inlcuded me.
the last memorial i attended was in 2006, seems like so long ago.... so how many here actucally got some "encouragement" this year?
Boyzone, no I'm not going. I thought about it but decided I couldn't attend in good conscience. I wrote her a letter back explaining my reasons so that she doesn't take it personally and knows I havn't made the decision lightly. I'll make it up to her some other way.

My mother sent me an invite in the mail with a brief letter asking me to come.
most here know that the teaching of the wt contradictory, deceitful and unbiblical.. there are many who have left the kingdom hall either physically or just mentally.. .
however, why does the hard work of cd-rom searching, nwt cross referencing and such continue for many?.
these are some possible reasons i guess.. 1. you want to expose the false wt doctrine even further or just learn the full extent of the deception?.
Also because it's intellectually stimulating and its something most of us know a lot about.
